A 2nd Cup was established in 2012 to raise awareness of human trafficking issues in Houston—and to develop resources that help create a second chance for survivors. Just simply buying a cup of coffee here can help change the world. (Also their coffee is fantastic)

If you ever feel overwhelmed trying to buy wine, this is a great place to start. One of my favorite organizations on the planet. FAM is working for justice by building empowered community. They have amazing programs for women and a farm of peace where they grow fresh produce. The farm is run by resettled refugees, immigrants, and local Houstonians with the hope that this agricultural endeavor will serve as a model for increasing food access and human connection.

Like many other organizations in the region, churches initially help hundreds of families muck, gut, clean, and sanitize the flooded homes of our neighbors when disasters strike. But who was going to help restore those homes and families to wholeness? If you're interested in helping bring restoration to the housing issues facing Houston, this is a great organization to be involved with.
