Queen Bees

Austeja Makoveckaite

Connection with Bees

The name Austeja derives from an ancient Lithuanian-Pagan meaning of Goddess of bees and I have always connected with this symbolism. Plus, a little bit of honey goes a long way. ;)

Fitness Background

I am an internationally-certified (ISSA) personal trainer and a nutrition coach. Fitness has been a huge part of my life for the past 20+ years and I love sharing this passion of mine with others. My philosophy is that everything in life is about balance, which includes a healthy body, mind and soul.

Travel Bug

Having made 3 major moves in my life (Lithuania to Texas, Texas to New York, New York to Switzerland) made me realize that traveling is the best teacher in life. It provides you with an open mind, curiosity, acceptance and truly expands your horizons. I can't wait to share my passion for travel with you all, experiencing some of the most amazing locations in the world through Bee Well retreats!

Haley Brown

Connection with Bees

My relationship with bees began at a young age when my precious Aunt Joanie gave my younger brother the nickname, "Bumblebee" and after being introduced to the classical piece, "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov which really helped get me hooked on the classics. With the help of my Mom and work I've done over the years, I've learned how important bees are to our world and how much they have to teach us about what it means to be in community.

What Haley Brings to the Table

To an outsider, I have had a strange resume of previous lives and interests. I've worked in Event planning, ministry, and in TV & Film. But at the heart of every job I've ever had, is my passion and gift for creating spaces where people feel like they belong, can find purpose and learn more about themselves or the world around them, no matter what their religious background, political affiliation, or socioeconomic status is. I'm currently the Director of a unique community in the Houston area that gathers folks around tables called gastrochurch, where we focus on intentional conversation about spiritual things over really good food (and wine). I'm also in the process of getting my WSET Level 3 Award in Wines after completing my WSET Level 2 Award in Wines last year at The Texas Wine School and I can't wait to taste and see all the goodness that our Bee Well World will have to offer :)
